Pakistan has made it very clear for those who will be henceforth funding Hafeez Saeed or his groups including so-called charities. Hefty find and a prison of ten years will follow if found guilty. The properties of such individual or organization could also be confiscated, said Islamabad.
The move from Pakistan comes within days United States suspended security assistance of over $1 billion.
US President Donald Trump said the aids could be resumed if Pakistan takes decisive actions against the terror groups.
On January 1 Trump tweeted, “The US has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid… and they have given us nothing but lies and deceit… No more!”
Pakistan came up with newspaper ads across the country on Saturday listing ban of 72 such terror groups including Jamat-ud-Dawa, Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation and Lashkar-e-Taiba of Saeed as well as Jaish-e-Muhammed of Masood Azhar.
The ads read funding to such groups is a crime as per the UN security council act of 1948 and Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 of Pakistan.
The ads reveal making donations to JuD, FIF and other terror organizations as per the UNSC sanctions list will not be acceptable by the government.
