About half ton people have been killed and dozens more wounded in two large bomb attacks in Afghanistan.
The first was a suicide attack near government offices in capital Kabul that killed 38 and injured many others. The second attack took place at a guesthouse in southern Afghanistan that belongs to the governor of Kandahar province. Twelve people were wounded and five left dead.
Among the injured in the second bomb were ambassador from the United Arab Emirates and other UAE diplomats.
Both the attacks are claimed by the Taliban group which has been waging a 15-year war against US-backed government.
Among the dead included military personnel, said Public Health Ministry official Mohibullah Zeer.
The bombings have been condemned strongly by President Asharf Ghani as well as Amnesty International.
The attack reminds breach of security in heavily guarded compound.
